Honor the Queen of Country with the News Sentinel’s tribute page
She came from a two-room cabin in the Smokies and became one of the most beloved figures in American music. When Dolly Parton died at 80, the hometown paper that had covered her for decades gave her a page worthy of the life she lived. The Knoxville News Sentinel's tribute page reads, "We will always love you, Dolly," with the years 1946-2026 and a simple line beneath it: from a two-room cabin to superstardom, Dolly Parton will forever be "a Smoky Mountain girl."
This print reproduces the Knoxville News Sentinel page from Wednesday, August 26, 2026. The portrait is a photo mosaic, built from hundreds of archive images of Dolly across her career: the young girl in East Tennessee, the rhinestones and the big hair, the stage lights, the guitar and the banjo, the awards, the fans, the Tennessee moments Knoxville readers watched unfold in their own backyard. Step back and it is unmistakably her. Step close and it becomes a career in photographs.
For anyone who grew up on "Coat of Many Colors," who made the drive to Dollywood every summer, or who got a free book in the mail from the Imagination Library, this page holds a moment worth keeping. It hangs well in a living room, a music room, a home office, or a den, and it makes a thoughtful gift for a lifelong fan, a Tennessee transplant, or anyone who considers Dolly part of the family. Choose art only, canvas, metal, or a framed finish to match your space.
Note: This is a reproduction of the Knoxville News Sentinel’s front page, and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Dolly Parton, her estate, or Dollywood.
