In Rod We Trust — Two Cups, One Captain, One Coach
Rod Brind'Amour hoisted the Stanley Cup as the Carolina Hurricanes' captain in 2006, when The News & Observer's front page declared "IT'S OURS!" and the Canes brought North Carolina its first major professional sports championship. Twenty years later, he did it again — this time as head coach — guiding the Hurricanes to a second Stanley Cup title with a series victory over the Vegas Golden Knights. This wall art pairs the iconic 2006 N&O front page with a commemorative "IN ROD WE TRUST" layout celebrating Brind'Amour's singular place in franchise history: just the fourth person ever to win a Stanley Cup as both a player and coach with the same franchise, and the first since Toe Blake accomplished the feat with the Montreal Canadiens decades earlier.
The design features Brind'Amour raising the Cup overhead after the Hurricanes' 3-0 clinching victory at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, alongside a reproduction of the June 20, 2006 News & Observer front page — the paper that told Raleigh the Cup was coming home for the first time. Side-by-side comparisons of both Stanley Cup Final series round out the keepsake, connecting two championship eras through the one constant: Rod Brind'Amour.
Available as an art print, canvas, metal print, or framed piece, this front page wall art makes a striking addition to a fan cave, office, or living room — and a meaningful gift for any Hurricanes fan who lived through both title runs. A perfect way to preserve the newspaper moment that captured a city's joy.
Note: This is a reproduction of The News & Observer’s front page, and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any league, team, or organization.
