Why is my book's ship date so far away?

Our books take a while because of how they're made. Each Pediment title is a full hardcover, and most are produced after the season, championship or event they celebrate, so the photos, stories and design come together only once the story is complete. The pages are then edited, laid out and proofed and sent to a book printer, where printing, binding and finishing a run of hardcover books takes several weeks. The finished books then travel from the press to our warehouse before they ship out.

We'd rather make a book that lasts than rush one out, and the wait is the cost of that. Ordering during the presale usually saves money and puts you first in line when the books arrive.

Presales and backorders

Many books are sold in a presale while they're still in production, and they ship out as soon as they become available. A backorder is an order for a product that isn't available to ship yet, either because it's still in production or because it's temporarily unavailable. Your confirmation email has the estimated availability and delivery details for your order, and you can check your order status anytime at account.pediment.com.

The ships-by date on the product page is our best estimate of when shipping begins. We say "ships by" that date rather than promising an arrival day. Orders are charged when they're placed.
