About the book
Commemorate Texas Tech’s first Big 12 title with this coffee-table book
After 70 years without an outright conference title, the Red Raiders are champions again! Now you can relive every moment of the Red Raiders’ historic season with “RED REIGN: The Inside Story of Texas Tech’s First Big 12 Football Championship.” This stunning 144-page hardcover collector’s book from the award-winning journalists at the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal chronicles how Texas Tech dominated the Big 12, won a dozen games by at least three touchdowns and claimed its first outright title since 1955 in the old Border Conference.
It’s all here: The top-10 showdown against BYU that cemented Texas Tech as a playoff contender. The 49-0 demolition of West Virginia that closed an 11-1 regular season. The unforgettable moment when the Red Raiders hoisted the Big 12 trophy in the Dallas Cowboys’ stadium. Plus: All the awards linebacker Jacob Rodriguez collected — the Bednarik, the Butkus, the Lombardi, the Nagurski — and his fifth-place finish in the Heisman Trophy voting. “Red Reign” also will be packed with exclusive photography, behind-the-scenes access and game-by-game coverage of David Bailey, Lee Hunter, Cameron Dickey and the team that made history.
Whether you’ve bled scarlet and black for decades or just witnessed the greatest season in program history, this book belongs on your coffee table. Order your copy today and own a piece of Red Raiders glory.
