About the book

Relive a generation of Yankees memories with this coffee-table book

IT IS HIGH, IT IS FAR, IT IS GONE! John Sterling, the Yankees and an era like no other

For 36 years, John Sterling called every single Yankees game. Every pitch, every hit, every walk-off ... 5,060 consecutive broadcasts without missing one. His home run calls were woven into New York baseball. "It is high, it is far, it is gone!" was the sound of summer in the Bronx.

But this book is about more than the man behind the mic. This hardcover coffee-table book from NorthJersey.com and USA TODAY Sports captures the greatest moments of the Sterling Era: the championships, the legends, the unforgettable plays. It follows Sterling's career and the Yankees era he called through photography, stories and behind-the-scenes moments. From the dynasty years of the late '90s through the 2009 World Series championship, Jeter's final season and Judge's record-breaking 62nd home run, it's the definitive visual record of one of the most celebrated runs in Yankees history.

The calls that gave you chills. The championships that defined a generation. The quiet moments fans never got to see. It's all here. Order your copy today.

Birthday gift

I ordered this a few months ago for my son in law’s birthday. I told him he wouldn’t be receiving it until November. He got it and was thrilled!! He had even asked my daughter to get it for him for Christmas but she knew I ordered it so it was already covered. He called and thanked me for his gift. Best surprise ever!!
