Celebrate the Hurricanes’ Stanley Cup championship with this double-truck front page
"STORM SURGE." That double-truck headline stretching across The News & Observer on Friday, June 19, 2026, says everything Canes fans felt the moment Carolina hoisted the Stanley Cup. This oversized spread captures the Carolina Hurricanes' championship celebration after defeating the Vegas Golden Knights in six games, with the team posing on the ice at T-Mobile Arena beneath the Stanley Cup Champions banner. Surrounding the centerpiece are images of the entire playoff run — fans roaring at Lenovo Center, Andrei Svechnikov celebrating a Game 5 goal, Jordan Staal handing the Cup to teammate Shayne Gostisbehere, and Stormy waving the team flag. The full series-by-series bracket runs down the left column, from the first-round sweep of Ottawa through the Philadelphia and Montreal series to the Cup Final, while a "By the numbers" sidebar on the right chronicles the records broken along the way, including Jordan Martinook, Taylor Hall, and Staal scoring three goals in 39 seconds during Game 3 — a new Stanley Cup Final record.
This wall art reproduces the complete two-page spread from The News & Observer and The Herald-Sun exactly as it appeared in print, preserving every photograph, caption, and stat line. Captain Jordan Staal, noted as the oldest player to win the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP, is featured throughout, along with goalie Brandon Bost's Stanley Cup–winning shutout and Jaccob Slavin's rare double of an Olympic gold medal and a championship in the same year. It's a single keepsake that tells the full story of the 2026 playoff run from Round 1 to the final horn.
Available as an art-only print, canvas, metal print, or framed in a variety of finishes, this piece is sized to make a statement in a living room, office, sports bar, or fan cave. It makes a perfect gift for the Canes faithful who lived every overtime, every comeback, and every storm surge celebration on the road to the franchise's second Stanley Cup title.
Note: This is a reproduction of The News & Observer’s front page, and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the NHL, the Carolina Hurricanes, or any other league or organization.
