The Wichita Eagle is pleased to announce a new hardcover coffee-table book, “Wichita Memories: A Photographic History of the Early Years.”
This beautiful heirloom-quality book will feature a glimpse of the Greater Wichita area from the early years to 1939 through stunning historic photos. We are thrilled to include photos from our readers, in addition to photos from the archives of Kansas Aviation Museum, Kenneth Spencer Research Library at University of Kansas, Midwest Historical & Genealogical Society, Wichita State University Libraries' Department of Special Collections, Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum, and Wichita Public Library.
I enjoyed both books...the photos & history most interesting. could have had more about North HI school & Riverside area. the river North Hi ARK river festival were very interesting & unusual for most high schools..railroad bridge in 30-40's north of 18th not mentioned...I guessed it went to the stockyards? alot could have been added as history...so much left out.
nice, well made
I just received the book and have already spent an hour and a half looking through it. Very high quality and quite interesting. Thank you!
