How it works
Four steps, and the first two cost nothing.
-
Tell us about them
Your child's name, their age, and a photo or two. A clear photo of them facing the camera works best. Any age from newborn to 12.

-
See them on the cover, free
We paint your child onto the cover in minutes, in the book's warm storybook style. You see it before you pay anything.

-
We make the whole book
Your book is made the moment you order. Your child is painted into the story, their name is on the cover and in the pages, and it goes straight to print.

-
We print and ship
A sturdy hardcover keepsake, made in America and sent to your door.

A baby edition, too
Choose Under 1 when we ask your child's age, and we paint your baby into the story as a baby: crawling along the path, peeking over the garden gate and tucked into the littlest bed.
The words and the three bears stay the same, so it's a story they can grow into.

The same page, painted for a baby and for a three-year-old.
Real kids. Real books.
Two finished books from the same story: one for a three-year-old, one for a baby.

Finding the coverCover ideasA whole little world, painted with care
We painted a sunny cottage, a garden gate and a green wood in warm gouache. Character studies gave each bear a personality, and many cover ideas helped us find the book’s welcome.
All so the story is ready the moment you add your child.

Questions parents ask
Is the cover preview really free?
Yes. Add your child's name and a photo or two, and we draw them on the cover before you pay anything.
Can I make one for a baby?
Yes. Choose Under 1 when we ask your child's age, and we paint them into the story as a baby, crawling, peeking and napping their way through it. The words stay the same.
What kind of photo works best?
A clear photo of your child on their own, facing the camera. For a baby, a photo where you can see their whole face works best.
What if the drawing doesn't look like them?
You can try once more with different photos. If it still isn't right, write to us at hello@pediment.com and we'll help.
What happens to my child's photos?
We keep your child's preview for 90 days so you can come back to it, then delete it.
When will it ship?
Your book is made the moment you order and goes straight to print.
