Over the 100 years of its existence, the Miss America Pageant has commanded a nation’s attention.
From the first women who paraded in bathing suits down the Atlantic City Boardwalk to the modern competitors empowering young women, the pageant has both defined and defied expectations. The Press of Atlantic City has been there from the start, documenting the pageant’s evolution in words and images. This fine-art, hardcover book will take you on that journey showcasing the proud history, the glamour and the defining moments that have made Miss America a part of our national identity.
Just received and still going through the book. Born and raised in Atlantic County so I’ve been following the Miss America Pageant for years, even was a hostess in Atlantic City! Hope it comes back to AC.
I bought this book for a birthday to a good friend who has worked with the contestants for many years. She also has memorabilia she be collecting over the years.
Was born & raised in Atlantic City. Saw most of the parades & a few of the competitions. Great to relive the times!
