This book pays tribute to the work done by photographers for The Record (Bergen County, NJ) and the Herald News (Passaic County, NJ) during two of the most harrowing weeks in the history of our nation. It looks at the events of Sept. 11, 2001, from the standpoint of North Jersey, and it celebrates the indomitable spirit that grew from the destruction at Ground Zero.

The photographers whose work is exhibited here include Thomas Franklin, James Anness, Mel Evans, Beth Balbierz, Danielle Richards, Carmine Galasso, Don Smith, Chris Pedota, Tariq Zehawa, and Adam Lisberg of The Record, and Ryan Mercer, Kevin Wexler, and Norm Sutaria of the Herald News. Record columnist Jeffrey Page, who writes The Road Warrior column for the newspaper, wrote the book.

Record Photo Editor Rich Gigli selected the photographs for the book. The photographers, he said, share a “collective vision.” They are “talented people sharing the same dreams, dedicated to their profession, highly creative, striving for the same goals of excellence.”
